the race consisted of 13 interactive checkpoints you had to go to in backwards order. checkpoint challenges included playing pachinko, a food eating contest, keirin racing around logan circle, sumo thumb wrestling in adult diapers, folding oragami, writing a haiku, eating wasabi, drinking sake, transfering grapes from one bowl to another with chopsticks, singing karaoke, and more. there was also a bonus manifest of stuff to bring to the finish like a japanese beer, an asian pear, a photo of yourself wearing underwear, and proof of purchase from a vending machine. naturally, the race started with a group game of rock, paper, sissors to get your manifest.
