Mokumpoloco, Amsterdam, Holland - 26-30 May 01

mokumpoloco messenger fest will be held from may 26 to may 30 2001 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. SO THATS NEXT WEEK YOU LAZY BASTARDS.

we found this wicked place just outside of amsterdam, 10 minutes by bike from schiphol amsterdam airport. here you can crash from saturday on, we gonna put up a little hotel in here, for squid's sake, THE COURIER CASTLE has finally found a location, almost a year too late and halfway across the world, but it is happening! though it is not free but for 10 guilders a night including breakfast is not expensive. and it's fully furnished, with couches, matrasses, running water, and a real bar with beer! in the sony building we also locate our headquarters, start and finish of some races, the welcome party, and some movie showing, so bring your messenger movies to amsterdam too!

we are working hard to make the meeting happen, we found some real nice places for checkpoint for the races, spots for partys is worked on by several people, the camping in zandvoort is aranged, the route to rotterdam too, the crews in the hague and rottedam are trowing us an alleycat for shure, and they ashure us on a place to sleep in those city's so we can hang out, drink and race with the local messengers.

SMOKE'MPOLOCO. A typical mokum house party at J74's place. Be prepared - take your cannabis! come to vondelkerkstraat 25 basement amsterdam to join.

• 13.00@ the sony building badhoevedorp - Tha warming ups. Welcome party with hometrainer sprints, 5 bands and a afterparty.(messengers sux is motherfucking cancelled, FUCK!)

• 13.00 @ the ferry to north - Sunday riders. The first street racing episode. It's a nice sunday afternoon in Amsterdam, the tourists are out and so are the shopping people, the city is just hyped with these fun shopping maniacs! Mokum is jammed with cars and pedestrians that are e-ver-y-where! That's gonna be fun!

• 18.00 @ under the amsterdamse brug - n.f.l.r.(ecarelttilnikufesin). diffrent setup, fucking evil! har har, new name too: the original and yet first amsterdam up and downhill, stop and go delivery sprints type thing. (toayfau&d,s&gdstt)

• 21.00 @ the sony building - showing of the mighty messenger movies.(if you bring some, otherwise its gonna be batman)

10.00@ museumplein, start 11.00 - starts @ your bed, after some coffee, you got your manifest on sunday and now you will pick up 5 other ones between 10.30 and 11.30, then you complete those 5 manifests how you like them, we got you some nice clients and some nice bikeshops to get your P.O.D.'s. well you'll be sweet with tis one for a couple of hours, and the working amsterdam messengers are trying too to get as much checkpoints as possible.
• 20.00 @ sportpark sloten - Rackin'frackin'mssngr keirin. Originally a Japanese track racing event, but now on a big old moped racing course of 2.5 kilometres long, a moped courier will pace 8 people for 2 kilometres up to a speed of 50 km /h and the last 500 metres you gotta sprint without the moped, the fastest mssngr will win of course.

• 10.00-11.00 @ museumplein - Haarlem-Zandvoort-classicat-mayhem. First we ride to our starting place in haarlem (25 km), then at like 14.00-15.00 we start, after some chillin' in the park, the race that leads us from the city of haarlem, the capital of the province of noord-Holland, thru the only hill in the province, to the village of zandvoort on the sea, where the race is gonna finish. After the race we stay in zandvoort at a campsite and we will have the award ceremony on the beach close to a beach bar. We'll take care of your stuff, if you want, with a support vehicle.

• 10.00 @ campsite zandvoort. - The cruise to Rotterdam. (100 km). Along the dunes of Holland we ride to the ecmc 2001 Rotterdam, with a stopover in The Hague for a fast alleycat to the town of Scheveningen. after the alleycat we can either hangout and sleep over in the hague or we ride on to Rotterdam. in Rotterdam we promise you a place to sleep if you wanna help out at the race site. you'll get some time to explore the city of Rotterdam too. You can go to the highest tower of Holland, the EUROMAST, or to the downtown swimming paradise TROPICANA. Well see for yourself, Mokumpoloco is history and we gotta be fit for the ecmc!

25 guilders for 3 nights in the couriers castle incl. breakfast. or 10 guilders a night (maybe you pick up some dutch chick/dude)
sorry for the unsuspected higher cost of everyting, nothing is for free in holland, i really tried.... pay all at once to the mokumpoloco crew when you register, or pay each day at breakfast in the courier castle for the night if you stay just one or two nites.
