Because the race was within the schedule of the pro race that we shared the race track with, and us starting right before the pros, it was pretty strict and a bit tight - getting up at 7 on a sunday isnt what i usually do.
Teams of 4 were starting in 30 seconds intervals and one guy from Toronto (i think) was too late and started around 30 seconds behind his team trying to catch up.
The circuit of 12 km had to be taken 2 times and there were a few nice obstacles to pass, the highlight (for the crowds at least) being a combo of a steep up`n`down ramp followed by a 180 banked u-turn tailored nicely together by some locals.
The other things to cope with were a few parked cars that only left a narrow way to pass so one had to slow down, 2 low ramps in a row that let ya fly real good at that speeds, and the one where you had to get off your bike was a dozen (or more) of car tyres you had get thru jumping and cursing.
There were quite a lot spectators there cheering to everyone and all in all there was lotsa action thruout the race. The funniest team the pizza boys who were riding with pizza delivery boxes on their bikes and funny hats.
All in all there were around 30 teams (i dont have the complete list anymore so i dont know exactly) and its pretty sure we`ll meet there again next year again - And im looking forward to it already.
Btw...the pros were only a little faster than us (the winning messenger team had an avg speed of 37,41 km/h)
