Chicago's messengers are now into full swing with a 1st annual winter alleycats series called TOUR DA CHICAGO. STAGE TWO, Near West, on 20. Sept. '98 was very fast 13 mile course leaving downtown at Buckingham Fountain at 5:15am. Then proceeding southwest down and around Douglas Park, then up north and around Humboldt Park. And then back down to the fountain...the race SHORT AND FAST. Average speed of the 7 man peleton was 26mph (with traffic) and somewhere, a max speed of 37mph.
