PMS Alley Cat #2, SF, 15 Mar 97

We had a great turn-out on Saturday! 23 racers left the Tempest at 2:55pm and went to Lick Street. From there they went to Wetmore, then 995 Bush, then Cherry, 69 Beaver, Twin Peaks, Reddy, Lucky and finally Bird Street. Racers had their middle fingernails painted to prove they went to Bird. Extra special thanks to Joe Corio for helping me work that checkpoint. The manifest was mad libs-style (ie a paragraph with blanks for the streets names to complete the sentences) with a jumble to be formed with letters picked up at each checkpoint. Tampons were hidden at each checkpoint for extra points, and there were a few bonus questions.

There was a tie for first place between Erik Zo and Matt (Broiler). However, they both felt that Toby would've taken first if he hadnšt wrecked, so they graciously split the kitty with him to replace his tacoed front wheel. Toby also won $2.35 (leftover cash) for best crash. Stephanie won a special prize (brought by Joe Corio) for DFL - she made a pit stop during the race to have her piercings adjusted! Lee won a bonus prize for collecting the most tampons. Richie successfully guessed that Fannyšs Market at 995 Bush might be mistaken for a Bordello by a drunken English sailor. Hermes won a prize for unscrambling the scramble - PUSSYCAT. Special thanks to Dan who came all the way from Australia to race in our alley cat (and he came in 3rd!) and to Mike Sanchez (a DRIVER with a bike) who beat some of the bikers.
