PMS Alley Cat Race #1, SF, 24 Jan 97

The race got off to a pretty rough start because the rain washed away the clues Lisa so carefully applied at each checkpoint. So, with the help of Fish and a few shots of Tequila in the kitchen at the Tempest, we were able to come up with a new course - a short one we decided to call the PMS MiniPad Race (on account of moisture). We tore through the phone book and hand wrote (yes, hand wrote) 19 manifests listing four addresses of female-related businesses (Good Vibrations, Beaver Bros, the Buena Vista Pregnancy Center and the Beauty Store) which the racers had to bring back the names of.

Pat Craven came in with the quickest time, but was penalized one minute due to a wrong answer on one of the checkpoints. Erik Zo won "best-decorated bike" for showing his true PMS colors by affixing a maxi pad to the rack of his Schwinn.

Now I know we started with 19 racers, so please let me apologize for anyone not mentioned above. Those first few shots of tequila, along with pre-finish keg beers, conspired to cloud our ability to officiate more officiously. Thatıs what you get when you let girls organize a race!
